About Derry
Derry Homes: Old Character, New Needs
Derry is a quintessential New Hampshire town, a mix of rural farmland, the historic Derry village center, and newer subdivision growth along Route 28 and Route 102. Homes here range from 200-year-old farmhouses near East Derry Road to 1990s colonials in planned developments. The old properties carry the charm of NH's past but need consistent upkeep to ward off water infiltration, drafts, and aging finishes. Newer builds, meanwhile, are reaching the age where flooring needs refreshing and drywall shows its first cracks. Justin serves Derry regularly and brings the same level of care to a historic farmhouse restoration as he does to a straightforward colonial repaint.
What We Do
Services for Farmhouses and Subdivisions Alike
Derry holds two housing eras with almost nothing in between, and the same job means something different in each of them.
Carpentry and Trim
Older Derry farmhouses carry trim profiles that no longer exist at a lumberyard. We match, repair, and replace in kind rather than substituting whatever happens to be stocked.
Interior Painting
Century-old woodwork and 1990s builder-grade drywall need completely different preparation. Each gets the prep it actually needs instead of a single standard scope.
Plaster and Drywall Repair
Plaster over lath in the village-era homes, taped seams and nail pops in the subdivisions. Repaired, skimmed, and finished paint ready either way.
Flooring Installation
Wide-board original floors worth keeping, and worn 1990s carpet worth replacing. Hardwood, LVP, laminate, and tile, with the subfloor checked first.
Water Damage Repair
Ice dams on old roof lines, frozen pipes in uninsulated farmhouse walls, and damp basements. Dried, rebuilt, and repainted rather than covered over.
Exterior Work
Clapboard and trim repair, exterior painting, deck work, and rot replacement on properties that face open ground and get the full weather.
Also available in Derry: TV mounting and fire alarm and smoke detector installation. Nearby: Londonderry next door and Salem a short run south.

Old Paint
Lead-Safe Work on Derry's Pre-1978 Homes
Anything in Derry built before 1978 is likely to have lead paint somewhere, and in the farmhouses around East Derry that can mean most painted surfaces, inside and out. Federal Renovation, Repair and Painting rules require a certified firm and lead-safe practices for any job disturbing more than six square feet of interior pre-1978 paint, or twenty square feet on the exterior. VixFix is EPA Lead-Safe Certified, so containment, dust control, and a proper cleanup are part of the job rather than a line item added at the end. If your house predates 1978 and a contractor quotes a scrape and repaint with no mention of containment at all, that is worth a direct question before you sign anything.
